Kevin was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2014 and given two years to live. Rather than yield to the prognosis, he has run numerous ultra-marathons and raised awareness and funds for charity, notably Prostate Cancer UK. His words had a profound effect on me.
They came back to me when my good friend David was diagnosed with cancer in late 2024. As a fit and healthy person, I could and should help people like my mate. I rode in the summer of 2025 to raise money for Macmillan, who had helped David and his wife.
I thought that might be it. David passed away in January 2026.
